Coach Day
Randy Day founded Momentum Volleyball Club LLC in 2015, formerly known as Delaware Revolution.
In the last several years, Coach Day has built Momentum into one of the top-notch volleyball programs in the state, offering a multitude of different opportunities for players at every skill level.
With over three decades of youth coaching experience and a successful impact on many, Coach Day brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to developing the next generation of volleyball players. In recent years, he has led his teams to a 1st place finish at CHRVA Regional Championships in 2022, 1st place at Beachfest and the Boardwalk Block Party tournaments in 2023, and 2nd Place in the 2023 MLK Kickoff Challenge.
Over the past 6 years, he has coached teams to over 30 top 3 finishes in competitions.
Coach Day's personal mission is to help players grow as people and athletes by encouraging them to take big swings and be great teammates. He aims to prepare them not just for success on the court but also for life, during, and after volleyball.
Coach Carney
With over 12 years of combined coaching and playing experience, Erin Carney brings a unique expertise with her to Momentum Volleyball Club.
A graduate of Smyrna High School, Coach Erin played four years on the varsity volleyball team where she earned Henlopen North Honorable Mention & Second Team All-Conference honors as a middle blocker. She went on to play briefly at the NCAA Division III level for Penn State Harrisburg as an outside hitter before starting her coaching career in 2018.
Over the years, Coach Erin has taken part in coaching summer camps, seasonal leagues, and assisted with club teams for Momentum at various age levels.
In her current coaching position at Delaware Technical Community College, she assists her fellow coaches with continuing a successful program for their Women's Volleyball team and defending their Region 19 Division II Championship title.
Coach Erin’s affinity for volleyball and helping others succeed in life run right alongside each other. Her well-rounded knowledge of the sport gives her valuable skills to mentor and train players aspiring to become better athletes, students, and people.
Chris Spencer is an experienced volleyball coach with over 15 years of coaching at the high school and club levels.
He began his coaching career at Elkton High School in 2007 before taking over as the varsity head coach from 2008-2014. During his tenure, the team won a division championship in 2010, for which he was named Cecil County Coach of the Year. He later coached at The Tome School in North East, MD, where the team won 6 league championships in 7 years. During his seven seasons at The Tome School, Coach Spencer compiled a 100-15 overall record and earned 2022 Cecil County Coach of the Year honors. In 2023, Coach Spencer was named varsity head coach at Bohemia Manor High School where he teaches woodshop.
In addition to coaching high school Coach Spencer has extensive experience coaching various age groups at clubs throughout the region since 2008. Since joining Momentum in 2019, he has coached the U16, U18, U14, and U15. His teams have consistently finished at or near the top of every tournament they have attended. He holds several volleyball coaching certifications, and is an active member of the AVCA and USA Volleyball. With his teaching background and over a decade of successful coaching experience, he excels at focusing on building basic individual & team concepts while promoting teamwork, positive sportsmanship, and a love of the game.
Charlie Ginex has over 23 years of successful volleyball coaching experience at the college, high school and club levels.
He most recently spent 9 seasons as the head coach of the Kean University men's program. During his tenure, Kean won 8 straight conference championships and made the NCAA tournament each year. His teams compiled over 200 wins and were consistently ranked nationally, achieving the #1 ranking in 2015. Ginex has been named conference coach of the year multiple times and coached numerous all-conference and All-American players at Kean.
Before Kean, Ginex coached high school volleyball for 10 years. He turned losing programs at Hackettstown and Randolph High Schools into winners within a couple seasons. His prep teams achieved winning records, playoff berths, and a conference championship. Ginex has also been involved in USA Volleyball's regional high performance coaching programs since 2014.
In addition to his coaching roles, Ginex has run numerous volleyball camps & clinics and has been invited to be a guest coach and speaker at regional clubs in the past. Ginex also earned a Bachelor's degree in Health and Exercise Science from Rowan University. His long track record of rebuilding programs, player development and coaching success makes Ginex a great fit for Momentum Volleyball.
Delanie Day has been coaching volleyball since 2015, bringing an abundance of experience as a standout player herself.
Delanie's volleyball journey began in 2010, where she went on to hold the record for season kills and be named MVP & team captain at Middletown High School. Coach Delanie was also recognized as a Second Team All-State player for Delaware. She went on to play at Frostburg State University, competing one year at the NCAA Division III level before moving to Division II. Coach Delanie was the top server in the MEC conference and ranked in the top 20 nationally out of all Division II schools for aces per set in the 2019 season.
She has found great success coaching club volleyball, connecting many players with college recruiters and opportunities over the years. She likes to keep things fun yet intense, with high expectations for her teams. As a player, Coach Delanie was an outside hitter throughout high school and club and later transitioned to a defensive specialist in college. Her extensive volleyball background allows her to relate to players across positions and help them take their skills to the next level.
Delanie is excited for the continued growth and development of her athletes in the coming seasons.
Katie Lough brings a great deal of playing and coaching experience to Momentum Volleyball Club.
During her time at Forest Park High School, she received Virginia 6A Second Team All-Conference honors. Coach Katie went on to play college volleyball at Frostburg State University, competing three years at the NCAA Division III level and one year at Division II; she took on the role of libero, defensive specialist, and team captain for the Bobcats.
She was also selected to the CAC and MEC All-Academic Team all four years, as well as chosen to represent her team on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Since beginning her coaching career in 2017, she has been a part of three different club programs,, working with athletes across all levels. Through her connections, she has helped many players get recruited to play volleyball collegiately.
In 2023, Coach Katie attended the Art of Coaching Volleyball Clinic to further enhance her coaching skills. She is dedicated to helping her players grow on and off the court and contributes a thoughtful, student-athlete focused perspective to coaching.
